Russia maps

Russia is located in northern Asia, but the area west of the Urals is associated with Europe. It is the largest country in the world in terms of land mass, covering 17,075,200km2, but much of the country lacks the appropriate soils and climate for successful agricultural development. The landscape is diverse, ranging from massive coniferous forests to tundra in Siberia, to the plains and hill of the Urals, and mountainous southern border regions.

Moscow, the Russian capital, is situated roughly in the centre of European Russia, approximately eight hours by car or train from St Petersburg, and four hours by plane from London.
