Reykjavik maps

Reykjavik lies on a small peninsula on the southwestern coast of Iceland, off a sizeable bay called Faxaflói and flanked by the majestic Mount Esja. It boasts a population of 171,500 and an area of 275km2. Reykjavik's old town is situated between its harbour and a large lake called Tjörn to the southwest. Iceland is famous for its glaciers, lava fields and geothermal springs, many located at or near the capital itself. Its relatively small size means that getting around is easy, with walking, cycling and bus travel the most popular options.
