Cyprus maps

The island of Cyprus is located in the eastern Mediterranean, below Turkey and to the west of Syria. Cyprus is divided into two regions, with the Greeks occupying the south, and the Turks occupying the north. The terrain undulates between wooded mountains, rocky outcrops, craggy shores and sandy beaches, with the imposing Troodos Mountains forming the rough centre point of the island. The total land mass is 9,251km2.

The capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, is connected by highway to Limassol, with hourly buses running between the two destinations. Two daily buses travel between Nicosia and Troodos.
