Cuba maps

Cuba is the largest of the Greater Antilles islands, and is located 150kms south of Key West, Florida. It is framed by the Caribbean Sea on the south, the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico on the west, and the Atlantic Ocean on the north and east. The main island is long and thin, and Cuba’s territory extends to several smaller islands and islets, with the country covering a total land area of 110,861km2. Cuba is part of a limestone platform, and features mountain peaks, terraces, valleys, sandy beaches and lush tropical vegetation in parts.

Havana, Cuba’s capital and largest city, is located on the sandy, northwestern coast of the island, meeting the Gulf of Mexico. It has a population of approximately 2.2 million, and is surrounded by fairly flat areas of low elevation. The city is a major hub of air and sea transportation, and buses and trains are available from the capital to destinations across the country.
